I'm a writer and editor focusing mainly on human stories and arts and culture. My work has appeared in the Financial Times, Magnum Photos, the British Journal of Photography, Thomson Reuters Foundation and TIME among other publications.

I also have experience as a field producer, location manager, photographer and director and worked as an assistant archivist for artist Paula Rego.

I was born and raised in London,  am half Spanish and speak Portuguese. I’m obsessed with Almodovar's films and love going to art exhibitions, listening to Mendelssohn and the Velvet Underground, walking in nature, and reading novels.

I worked with Marina Watson Pelaez to cover the drug issue in Portugal, and she was excellent. She was a wonderful interpreter, set things up very well and followed up afterward to make sure that I had everything I needed. I would definitely try to work with her again, and I recommend her strongly.

Marina was one of the stars of her year at City University -- and has proved a star in her subsequent professional career. She is extraordinarily versatile, very bright and extremely conscientious and hard-working.
